Background and Identification
Respiratory analyzers are alternately called respiratory gas monitors, respiratory performance analyzers, and respiratory analysis systems. These specialized instruments measure the respiratory function of a patient for clinical purposes.
Respiratory analyzers are critical in a surgical context since they are used whenever a patient is under anesthesia. These devices monitor the expired gases from the patient, measuring levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and any gaseous anesthetic agent.
