Core Technical Specifications
The 2005 RMK series offered a broad power range, with the 900 model being a clean-sheet design that utilized many new-to-market technologies.
The 900 RMK utilized a new 866cc Liberty twin with liquid cooling and reed valves, producing significantly more torque than the 800 Liberty. It featured a fixed 41-inch ski stance and an Independent Trailing Arm front suspension providing 9 inches of travel. The rear utilized the Dual Purpose Rail suspension with a massive 18.5 inches of travel. Track options were substantial, reaching up to a 166-inch length with 2.4-inch lugs.
The 800 RMK (EDGE) remained a staple with its 794cc Liberty twin. It offered a slightly higher fuel capacity (11.8 gal vs. the 900’s 10.8 gal) and a shorter rear travel of 17.5 inches. These models are frequently sought after by restorers due to the engine's "bulletproof" reputation compared to the 800 twins from other manufacturers of that era.
