Background
The ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 is a 14" business laptop released in 2024 by Lenovo. It's the successor to the 2023 L14 Gen 4. Not to be confused with the L14 i Gen 5 which comes equipped with Intel Core Ultra CPUs, the regular L14 Gen 5 is an AMD machine, configurable up to an 8-core Ryzen 7 PRO 7735U.
Identification
The ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 can be identified with the model information printed on the underside of the laptop or in the UEFI BIOS. Its model number/"machine type" is 21L5 or 21L6 depending on configuration and region.
