• Ignition System: A major upgrade over the K-Series was the switch to Electronic Magneto Ignition. This eliminated the need for points and condensers, providing a more reliable spark and maintenance-free operation for the life of the engine.
• Lubrication: Most single-cylinder models use a splash lubrication system, while the larger V-twins (M18, M20) feature a full-pressure lubrication system with a spin-on oil filter.
• Power Output: The series ranges from the small 8 hp M8 to the robust 20 hp M20 twin, providing high torque at lower RPMs—ideal for vintage garden tractors and industrial equipment.
• Dual-Element Air Filtration: These engines typically feature a large canister or triangular air cleaner with a foam pre-cleaner, designed to protect the internal components in high-dust environments.
