Background
The Casio CTK-3200, released in 2012, is part of Casio’s CTK series. It was an affordable, portable electronic keyboard that aimed to offer a low barrier of entry to beginner piano players while also including features that would appeal to more advanced players.
Casio started producing electronic keyboards in the 1980s, leading the charge to make keyboards more accessible and portable for everyone. Over time, Casio has evolved the CTK lineup by incrementally improving the technology and design while keeping the price as competitive as possible. Preceded by earlier models such as the CTK 2000 and 2100, the CTK-3200 boasted some improved features such as touch-sensitive keys, improved sound quality, and USB-MIDI connectivity.
Eventually, the CTK-3200 was phased out of production and replaced with newer models such as the CTK-3500 and the CTK-4400. By around 2017, most retailers discontinued the CTK-3200. Despite being discontinued, the CTK-3200 lives on as a well-regarded entry point for aspiring musicians.
Identification
Identifying the Casio CTK-3200 is pretty simple. It is black and weighs about 3.5 kg. The CTK-3200 also has pre-programmed 110 rhythms and 400 tones and is approximately 946 by 307 by 92 millimeters.
