Mi Problema

I have this old MBP 15 from 2008 and cannot part with it as it has the "old-stlye" keyboard and love the feel of it. The fan started making rumbles but Apple did not fix under Applecare as it only was very noisy when off-horizontal. I was "holding it wrong". I lost some respect for the Genius kidz from that experience. Now that it's off Applecare, the fan went completely. Twas only a matter of time.

Mi Solución

I opened the thing 3 times. Had to figure our which side fan. The actual replacement was a piece of cake. There is some copper tape that I had to cut to separate the fan from the heatsink.

Mi Consejo

Buy that spudger thing! I didn't have it when I first opened up and it would have been a big help.
