Typical A1260 right fan replacement
bill -
Mi Problema
After nearly 4 years of continuous use, the right fan was grinding and buzzing loudly.
Mi SoluciĆ³n
As with all MacBook Pro repairs, once all the tiny Phillips and Torx screws are removed, it's usually smooth sailing to replace any component. In this case, I fabricated a small spudger by cutting and taping together the two prongs of a plastic outlet cover. Worked perfectly and my MacBook is nice and quiet now.
Mi Consejo
The most important steps usually involve disconnecting the small surface mount ribbon connectors. Either fabricate a soft plastic spudger or invest the $2.95 and purchase one from iFixit. Chances are you will be making another repair on your Mac at some point in the future and you'll want to have one on hand.
