Mi Problema

My fan was too loud and it eventually died on me. My mac shut down after 15 mins because it overheated.

I ordered the fan after apple genius bar said my laptop was an antique and too old to be service by them.

The repair took 1 hr. I ordered the fan, phillips screwdriver, and spudger. It went smoothly with the Ifixit instructions.

Mi Consejo

If you print out the instructions make sure it is in color. The black and white copy is not helpful. The captive screws don't come out. I didn't understand what they were until the apple genius bar showed me. I labeled post it notes with the instruction step numbers to match each instruction step number with the corresponding screws. That way I didn't lose the screws and I knew which step the screws were for. The most difficult parts for me were disconnected/reconnected the keyboard and fan cables. The spudger helped.
