Moderate

Mi Problema

Noisy and malfunctioning left side fan in my MacBook Pro.

Mi SoluciĆ³n

Instead of shipping the laptop off to Apple, or taking it to some local schmoes, I decided to be brave and take on the repair myself. Never cracked open a computer before to get to the innards, much less attempted any kind of repair to one. Followed the instructions carefully, methodically and to the letter, and the repair went very smoothly with no major problems. When I got to the step where you remove the top of the case, getting the clips at the front to pop out is a little tricky, but you just got keep pulling and working at it until they do, and they eventually will. The tools from iFixit were excellent and reliable, and the new fan works great. Awesome sense of accomplishment! Now I'm ready to replace the trackpad on my son's laptop...
