Thought the hard drive was crashing, computer freezing.

Mi Solución

Got the kit on time, but before the kit came, I did a reinstall of OS X on top of the old install. That fixed the issues.

Sometimes a teardown is not needed, but so glad this community and online store exists for our repair needs.
