No power, fixed by bridging some component

Hi,

I have been replacing a worn out analog sticks on the Pro controller. This went well but in the process the flex cable that connects the main board to the battery circuit board broke off. This one here:

I took a good time fixing this (had trouble getting the broken off wires off the board) but after fixing I've realized that the controller gets no power. Checked connections on the little battery circuit board and found out that somehow the "+" from the battery doesn't pass the small smd component that I've marked in red (borrowed that photo from https://www.reddit.com/r/consolerepair/c... since I've closed mine already):

This component seems to have a K symbol on it. I've decided to bridge it and the controller seems to work fine now but I don't really know what I did. Is it safe? Is it a smoothing capacitor? Why would it break? I didn't really mess with that board (remember that this picture is not mine) and I haven't connected the battery until after everything was fixed...

Hi!

I think it's a fuse.

You can bridge it to get it back to work! But the only thing is, is that isn't protected anymore now with a fuse. So if it happens again, the board can be fried.

So you can let it be as it is now (recommended to do so), if you need to open it again, you can solder a new fuse in it.
