viviannash17, there are a few different variation of this fan. I can tell you that the model 84001 has a fuse as well as a capacitor that connect to the motor. I would disassemble the fan and check those two items. Of course, make sure that you disconnect the power, and that you know how to use a multimeter. Hope this helps, good luck.

I have a portable fan that can use the power from an outlet to run the fan so it doesn't used the battery and charges it instead. Suddenly my fan switch doesn't want to switch to AC mode which was the mode were you can use the outlet instead of the battery. I tried to turn it on by moving the switch in small inches between sides. But it still bothers me. Can someone tell me what's the problem?

I have a stand fan i check motor is good, lubricated the bushing/shafting and already replaced the capacitor (capacitor is 2 microfarad) but still i need to push the blade to start it or start turning. What is the problem of the fan

@ANTHONY FERNANDO possibly secondary motor winding. We would need to see more and know what make and model your fan is

Most of the time, the problem is the motor start capacitor, this brief video explains:

Fan blades don't spin

It could also be due to the termal cut off fuse, or the electric motor itself (uncommon). For a complete repair analysis video, watch this:

You may have two bad switches. I just changed two because they went bad at the same time. Very easy tofix. Just make sure you get one for the fan and one different for the lights. Different amps for both.

If the fan has a sleeve bearing and it has positioned at inclined angles for long periods of time, 1000+ hours of usage in this manner, the internal rotor will warp due to un even and insufficient lubrication as well as a buildup of carbon byproduct and the motor will eventually seize without much warning. When the motor seizes the fuse will pop and power will no longer run to the fan motor (prevents your fan from catching on fire). You will need a new motor and a new fuse, but the fan speed capacitor should be fine.
