The reset button is a round black button with a thin slit across it. I have tried pushing it with a screwdriver head but there is no give and I can't reset it. How do I reset it?

The reset switch is inside that "black button" unscrew it, and the button is actually inside of that. The "black button" you are referring to is just a cover for the actual button.
