Removing springs in VR glasses arms

Hi,

I have a very wide head so the spring-loaded arms of the HTC Vive Flow VR glasses - although they accommodate me - pinch my head very badly. Therefore, I want to just remove the springs in glasses' side arms. Can I do this? Thanks
