Samsung FlexDry dryer touchpad not consistently working

I have a Samsung flex dry dryer (DVE60M9900V/A3). I will push the ‘On’ portion of the touchpad, and it takes a few seconds for the display to come on (but with no jingle-sound at all). And then the display will intermittently show up for a few seconds, then disappear for a few seconds, then comes back…. It does this for the entire time it’s on. If I time it right, I can hold the ‘start’ button down and get the dryer to run normally. Anyone know if this is a thermal fuse, touchpad, or other issue?
