broken speaker: where can I find replacement?
i want to fix my 3ds speaker but i am very afraid to buy the wrong speaker and cable. can anyone suggest a reliable site?

As long as you select the "New Nintendo 3DS XL" you should be good to go. If it's not the correct one you can return it and get your money back.
