Why Is the New Back Glass not Flush with the Mid-Frame and Flash?

Hello,

I have finished replacing the back glass on my Samsung Galaxy Note 5. I noticed that the back glass is not sitting flush with the mid-frame and the heart rate sensor/flash even after pressing on the back glass focusing on these areas for over a minute.

Are there any solutions to solve these gaps?

Thanks.

The back glass was bought from some seller on Ebay.

@tanveerzubair proably a chinese copy, better buying genuine

Ok. Is there at least any workaround to this?

@tanveerzubair is that frame bent ?

- de

@tech_ni As of what I see, it is very minimal.

@tanveerzubair Assuming you followed the iFixit guide for replacing the back panel, that would mean you didn't remove the midframe so you wouldn't have been able to directly examine the battery for swelling, which is what this looks like to me.

That's what I'd check next if I was working on this; a bulging battery would perfectly explain what you're seeing.

I have already replaced the battery with one from iFixit, so this is less likely the problem.

@tanveerzubair Yep, I agree. Can you go over the back of the phone (sans rear panel) with a straightedge? That might give you a clue as to where it's misaligned or out of straight.

- de

@dadibrokeit Just making sure. Are you asking me to check if the mid-frame is straight?

- de

@tanveerzubair Yeah, more or less; I was thinking you would want to check the back of the phone with a straight edge to find out where the bend or bulge is that's keeping the rear case from sitting correctly. It shouldn't require pressure to sit perfectly on the phone, so something is interfering, whether that's a malformed midframe or a bent frame or a misaligned connector; something's getting in the way.

- de

In that case, the bend is extremely minimal, near the volume buttons.
