First check in Disk Management if the drive shows up if it does but has no letter, assign one or initialize it if it’s new. If it’s not listed, reseat the SATA and power cables or try a different port to rule out connection issues. If it still doesn’t appear, the drive itself may be faulty or incompatible, so testing it on another PC is the quickest way to confirm.

Check Physical Connections
Check if BIOS/UEFI Detects the Drive
Check Disk Management in Windows
Check for Driver Issues

Please provide more information- such as what type of hard drive are you adding? I know that there are certain bios/EFI settings for some laptops and you may need to verify compatibility. What is the operating system? What have you tried so far? Can you check a different drive?
