This vehicle had a recall on the Cam Position Sensor. Which typically throws a 0340 DTC Code and will prevent spark at the plugs. I would start with pulling the codes from the computer and verifying that your car is not part of the original recall and never got serviced otherwise my first inclination is that it is the crank position sensor which is known to cause this issue.
