I was using my tablet just fine last night before it randomly black screened and would not turn on. I left it to charge all night and while I was at work, but it still has not turned on. I held the power button for 20- 30 seconds and no response.

Sounds like the software crashed. Also I understand you have held the power button long enough. However not sure if if you did it without being plugged in or not.
Hear is what to do
-Making Sure Your Tablet Is Not Plugged Into a Power Outlet
-Hold the power button for 30 seconds to force a power down. This helps if the software is stuck in a loop and is not responding to the power button. A long hold on the power button activates a hardware power off.
Since you left it charging all night and part of the day, this should work.
Also the unspecified tablet may have a factory reset function. This can resolve a software lock up, but may clear your data from the tablet.

Can sound like a problem with the battery. Have you noticed any swelling around the middle of the ipad?
