Samsung S21 Ultra crashes and reboots at it's whim

My S21 Ultra randomly crashes and then refused to boot back up. I have to force it to boot by holding down the volume down key and the power button for minutes at times. Sometime it goes into a bootloop where it repeatedly keeps showing the boot logo and takes at least 4 or 5 repetitions to boot into the OS.

Do I need to change any of the parts or is this a software issue?

Hi @mohammedfa57539

When you can get the phone to turn on, try starting it in safe mode and check if the problem occurs or not.

This is just to eliminate whether a downloaded app may be causing the problem.

If it still occurs in safe mode, backup the phone to the cloud or a computer and then perform a factory restore¹ and check if the problem occurs.

¹ Be aware that a factory restore will erase all your personal data and downloaded apps. It will reset the phone back to its factory default condition. That is why it is important to backup the phone first, before performing the factory restore. Also if there's a Google or Samsung account tied to the phone, you will need to know the user ID and password for the account to enable you to setup the phone again after it has been reset. This is due to the FRP lock (Factory Reset Protection) that has been enabled by the reset.

If the problem still occurs in the factory default condition, then it is a hardware problem which would have to be further investigated. Does it do this if the charger is connected to the phone? Has the phone been dropped or gotten wet at all?

If the problem doesn't occur in the factory default condition, restore the phone to what it was before the reset by using the backup that you made earlier and check if it is still OK. If so then the reset has resolved the problem.

Note: Being random makes it difficult to know so if you decide to try the above allow sufficient time with each test to ensure that the problem is either still there or it isn't.

Hi Jayeff,

Thanks for replying to me.

I did as you said and the problem persists.

The last step, the factory reset has also not seemed to fix the issue. The phone is still in this mode and I have not restored any of my data.

As you said, this could be a hardware issue. The phone crashes regardless of it being connected to a charger or not.

I appreciate your help so far and would like to know if there is anything else I can do to fix my phone.

Thank You
