A few weeks ago I dropped my phone and the screen went black. The phone seems to work as the buttons give feedback once turned on. I now have replaced the screen from Ifixit but the issue persists. Touch registers on the screen however the new screen is also completely black. How can I fix it? I already bought a new screen and tried that so I'm of out of ideas.

Try cleaning and re-seating the ribbon connector for the display. Perhaps there are some debris in the port that are blocking some display pins from making contact and thus preventing their functioning.
Be very gentle with the ribbon cables.
