Make sure that the speaker holes are not obstructed by the protective case or any other objects. Then you want to go ahead and clean the speaker grille on the bottom of your phone. For that use a soft brush moistened with alcohol to clean the speaker grille, then check whether the issue is resolved.

If it has not, then it is possible that you have a speaker issue. It is not very difficult to replace it. Since ifixit does not yet have a guide for that, use the one from here
