iSight not working and screen brightness not adjustable

Hello guys. I wanted to replace the thermal paste on my Macbook Pro mid 2012 15”, and I proceeded as per iFixit manual.

At first I thought all was good, but after few minutes I noticed that the camera wasn’t working and the screen brightness was not adjustable anymore, just always on 100% or 0% when you go to last bit of the scale.

I tried to reset SMC, PRAM and NVRAM, but nothing. I think it’s an hardware problem maybe?

What part I should check/ change? Is it fixable? The Macbook is working fine, apart from having always brightness at 100% and iSight not recognized.

Thank you, any suggestion is very appreciated!

The iSight camera is likely a bad connection of the cable. Refer to Step 5 in this guide MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2012 Display Replacement you could have pulled on the wires pulling them out of the connector body as well.

As far as the display brightness that’s likely a deeper issue within the logic boards backlight power logic as it does sound like the control is visible on the screen just not the expected reaction.

Could you had damaged something in the process of taking the logic board out?

Hello Dan, i updated my question with some pictures.

I think I connected everything properly, so really I don’t know about the camera. About the brightness: UH, that’s a very bad news. I was careful but, honestly may be at this point, probably I damaged something. Somebody suggested that may be a short somewhere on the board? I need to check a eventually with a thermal camera.

Is the logic backlight power repairable or replaceable in some way?

Thank you so much Dan
