Power button flex connector damaged or FPC connector damaged?

Hello, I have a samsung a13 which the power button doesn’t seem to quite work. The original power button wasn’t working so I replaced it with an aftermarket one from ebay. It seems to really only turn on the phone when I hold the buttons connector down to the fpc connector. I am wondering what could be wrong. Could the actual fpc connector on the motherboard be damaged? Or could the connector on the power button flex be damaged/defective? As the issue seems to be similar before I installed the aftermarket power button flex.

Has your cellphone been exposed to liquid before? If not, in my opinion, try checking the iron on the part of the machine that connects to the button, if it is damaged or not under pressure. If so, you can pull it slowly, if it's still the same, try a new button... Good luck.

It has possibly been exposed to liquid. Although when I bridge the bottom 2 right pins on the power flex fpc connector the phone turns on and off. But when I install the new power flex, I have to apply pressure to the power flex connector for it to turn on the phone. So, I am thinking that the power flex fpc connector could possibly be damaged and is unable to hold the new power flex properly. Could it really just be the power flex?
