Faulty power connection (intermittent)

Device was losing its connection & finally would not connect to power at all. I replaced the cord/transformer a month ago. Last night got error message: "device not properly plugged in" (not exact wording!) but it is fully plugged in. Otherwise, the machine works. Any ideas?
