iPad 1st gen doesn't charge and isn't seen by computers?

My iPad 1st generation stopped charging and isn't being seen by any of my computers. I've tried to different chargers and three different cords. It just stopped working, no abuse, water or anything I can define. Just doesn't charge.

I'm no expert but it sounds very similar to many re chargeable items I've had that have done the same thing and it was always that the pins that the charger/ cable plug into, or aka the connection port is damaged in some way. It shouldn't be a big deal to change with all the info available on here and other sites like you tube. Just be very carefully when you take the screen off not to damage any ribbon cables or the wifi antenna or anything close to the screen surface. It's probably out of warranty so it will cost a bit to send it in if you don't want to fix it yourself. I had my iPad 2 quoted for digitizer screen replacement and it was going to cost 200.00 to 250.00 or more so I decided I could try to fix it myself. If I couldn't I probably wouldnt be any worse off since I would have to send it in, but, I am somewhat mechanically inclined..hope that helps..let us know what you find out...

I know what is most likely wrong. The pins may be damaged, but it is more likely that the charging circuit board is fried. Luckily you can replace this part.

iFixit does not sell the part you need, but you can find the part on eBay. I've ordered from the seller linked below before and their quality is consistent.

iPad 1st Gen Charging Dock on eBay

The board runs from the bottom of the iPad all the way to the top, then it connects to the underside of the logic board. The part actually takes up a lot of space inside the iPad. Here's the guide on iFixit

If you have any trouble you can certainly ask me any questions about the repair. I've replaced this part a couple of times before and it fixed this issue each time.
