@leilabaker not exactly sure what type of Y cable you are looking at. Commonly, using a Y-cable just means you are combining left and right channels into one. You will lose your stereo sound. Yes, it can be done but if you just need to extend your cables, either buy longer cables or get another set. You can get RCA Fem-Fem, Fem/Male and male/male plugs. It just depends on what cable you are using.
