LCD replacement difficulty question.

Hello all,

Has anyone replaced only the LCD on one of these models, and if so how difficult is it? I can imagine they're packed quite tightly. There's no necessary destruction is there?

Also, LCDs for either A1237/A1304 are interchangeable right?

Thanks!

I have not replaced the LCD in one of these display assemblies, but I expect it would be difficult to remove the bezel without damaging it. You have to fight your way through some very sticky double sided tape. If you have not already done so, take a look at the teardown of the MacBook Air Models A1237 and A1304. Step 21 gives a little bit of a hint as to how difficult replacing the LCD may be.

Here's a video on how to do it. Judge for yourself if this is something you can handle: http://www.powerbookmedic.com/wordpress/...

Thanks, dosen't look too bad. Just the ubiquitous sticky tape. Always forget that youtube can be informative too.

Second one is for a macbook by the way.

I did this one, replacing not the LCD but the lid itself. I thought I was being extremely careful with the LCD Bezel, but I broke the LCD in more than one place in the process of removing the Bezel. The rest of the job was manageable, but breaking the LCD was a disappointment.
