i have a 5s that has a screen that has the bottom metal half is somewhat separated from the top glass/LCD layer but it's still intact, the touch and screen fully works but on one end, it always pops out. battery isn't swolen and i took out the logic board to test to see if maybe i didn't insert it correctly but it doesn't sit flush and i can pull off the screen with a knife.

According to your photo, and based off of the position of the SIM card tray, that is the TOP of the phone that is popping out, not the bottom.

The issue you are having is that the top of the phone cannot be pressed into place! The top of the phone must be slotted into place before any of the press connections are pressed into place.

Photos attached are of a new screen I have in stock for reference. I do not have a 5s in the shop right now to show you the proper procedure, but reversing the directions on this guide (Sustitución de la pantalla del iPhone 5S) should show you.

Basically, the top of the phone screen frame is hooked (photo 1), and must be slotted over the part of the iphone frame that holds them, and only then do you press down all the connections (photo 2, I know my photoshop skills for adding arrows is unparalleled).

It is possible with flexing and bending that these top hooks pop out. However, the only way to make it properly sit flush again is to take the screen off and put it back on properly. Attempting to bend and flex the frame without taking the screen off is almost completely guaranteed to cause more damage instead of fixing your problem.

A lot of iPhones has some aging problems where glue becomes weak between the display frame and glass. That's what this looks like to me, glass is seperating from the plastic frame, it's possible to use some B7000 glue or something similar to fix this but it's probably easier and less risky to just get a new display instead. Screens for 5S is usually around 10 bucks these days so not very expensive.

That's not coming away from the plastic. It's either not set in correctly or the clips on the screen that hold the screen in have broken. Open the phone and put the screen back in top first making sure it slots into the phone. Hold the screen at an angle with the top down and the bottom upwards.
