I know camera won't work. But I want to know exactly what works and what not? Is there any catch? I don't need the camera by the way.

They do look the same! But…they are not compatible!
The issue here is the physical and electrical interface is not the same.
Think of it like your old analog TV and what we now have with digital TVs.
The cameras likewise have different connections too.

If the electrical interface is not the same, you will get no output at all. It may even damage the LCD or mainboard if voltage goes where it's not supposed to.
@datle13955 - As the other Dan stated you won’t get an image and as the backlight pins are also moved you will damage things!
