Component not working, but Composite is

Hey y’all, so recently I’ve been trying to find out the best ways the make use of the Composite/Component port since I the HDMI port is broken. The standard red/white/yellow composite cables from my Wii work fine but I wanted to try out some Component cables for the wii that I found online.

However, every time I hook up the component cables to any tv, it shows the other higher resolution options on the game pad and I’ve tried all of them but the same issue keeps happening: it says ‘ no signal ‘ for a few seconds and then goes to a black screen for a while, and then flashes no signal and repeats. I’ve let it sit like that for a good while before I just end up plugging in the composite cables again. I’ve tried the cables with my wii and they work fine, and the picture looks great so I really wanna try whatever I can to get them working for the wii u. Thanks!
