LG TV suddenly displays half black half rotating colours.

LG 65UB980T TV

Hi all, So a bit of background. I've had this tv for about 7 years now and a few months ago the image started ever so slightly shaking in some scenes (left to right) and now it has completely gone. When the tv turns on sometimes it is half black and half rotating colours like another post ive seen here however other times it is staticy. But in both cases it seems like its 2 separate halves on the tv. I've replaced the tcon board to no avail so am now suspecting maybe one of the cables? Thank you.

@niloyshehrin that is a bad panel. The left side of the TV panel lost contact with the LCD driver boards. Take your TV back cover off and post a couple of picture of all the boards. Do not forget the "skinny boards" that connect to the panel via a row of ribbon cables. You can't remove those boards. That are the driver boards and that is where the error originates from. Let's see if we can find a bad connection or bad component.

ahh thats unfortunate. im assuming if those are the bad parts then its a full panel replacement? ill send some pictures in the morning (maybe in around 10ish hours?). this is a picture of my t-con board https://imgur.com/a/ZAwgwNx , if i take out the cable circled (it is one of the 3 cables going to the motherboard, all of the ones on the right side go to the motherboard) then the screen goes into a test thing like this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWugyoWq...

not sure if any of that is important haha

@niloyshehrin there might a way to temporarily fix it with a Tape-Off but it's tricky and may not work. Let's see what those boards show. No worries about the time. We'll be around :-)

@oldturkey03 had some time on my hands so i snapped some photos! https://imgur.com/a/fSs7Iwu

heres what i could find. im not sure where the driver boards are on this tv, is there more stuff i have to take off to find it?

@niloyshehrin the ribbon cables from the T-con board usually terminates on those boards. Depending on your chassis those can be a hard to find, You'll have to getto the bottom/top end of the actual panel to see them.

also there seems to be some rainbow coloured heat damage on the top right of the back cover so maybe thats indicating something
