Why is my headset not charging but can play when connected via cable

Answers to questions like this are almost always subjective and can lead to a lot of confusion or Spam. Here, we try to empower YOU to repair your own device. To save your hard earned money by repairing it yourself. Like in the case of your headphones. You've said they play and work when connect via wire but do not charge. The very first thing you would want to do in case like this is to:

• check your charger
• check your charging cable
• check your charging connector (make sure there are no bend, broken pins). Clean the connector with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air.
• Use an ammeter and see if your battery actually tries to pull some current.
• Replace the battery
• Then re-evaluate. If it still doesn't work, check the components on the circuit board to see if there are any that look like they are damaged.

If you use a somewhat methodical way to troubleshoot, you can ix it yourself.

Use something like this video to replace your battery. It is a different model but essentially it is the same way.

While you work on your headphones, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit.
