Samsung QLED White/Washed out screen - Main Board or LED Driver Board?

Samsung QLED QN75Q8FNBFXZA

Hello!

Not exactly sure how to describe the issue with this tv, but the screen is completely washed out - picture displays and issue is independent of input as the problem is also present on built in smart tv menus. Other ways to describe the issue is greyscale or slightly negative picture?

I've found similar issues via research online but with older tvs that have a T-con board. My tv does not have a replaceable T-con board.

I've taken the tv apart and have performed a handful of tests but it hasn't gotten me any closer to a root cause.

Would appreciate any thoughts from the pros as to whether they think a replacement of the LED Driver Board or Main Board could fix the issue?

Images of issue attached. Thank you!

@q1iqizbn7xzhhae Any chance of an update if the replacement board worked or was it a panel issue ? I have the same problem and the eBay seller said the same thing..that it is a screen issue and not to bother ordering a replacement board for my Samsung 65" TV.

@q1iqizbn7xzhhae Any chance of an update on if you tried replacing the main board or was it a screen/panel issue ?
I have the exact same problem and the eBay seller has also messaged me saying that its likely a screen issue and not to bother replacing the board. The board is $50 so i might as well give it a shot but curious to know what happened in this this case since this is the closest post I could find to my problem :)

@q1iqizbn7xzhhae most commonly this would be a T-con board error (Gamma IC failure) which is integrated with your Main board. Post some good pictures of the back of the TV (without the cover) so we can see the boards. Also, post some good close up of the boards. WE might find some test points to narrow it down. The LED driver board really should not have anything to do with the washed out appearance. The other thing that can cause this are the LCD driver boards. Those are actually considered part of the panel and that would not be good. Let's keep our fingers crossed that those are ok. Let's think positive. It's the Main Board (T-con board ;-)

Update (04/10/23)

@q1iqizbn7xzhhae looks like your main board is a Samsung BN94-12914, let's see if there are any schematics out for it. Your boards look decent and I do not see any obvious damage but maybe a close up of the area outlined in blue may reveal more.

Thanks for the quick feedback Sir!

I started off thinking it was LED Driver board but following additional research, and as you have mentioned, I learned that the T-con is integrated into the main board for newer Samsung TVs such as this one.

I have attached several new photos per your response. I've looked up the part numbers online and they are referred to as "LED Driver Board" and "Main Board" and then I believe the one with heat sinks is the power supply.

Your time and feedback is appreciated! Thank you!

Please let me know if the pictures are close enough or if I need to get closer.

Thanks!

@oldturkey03

Added close ups of the area you've identified. Hope they are sharp enough! Likewise, I do not notice anything obvious in terms of damage, but I'm no pro.

Thanks again for your time! I expect to place an order for a replacement main board here shortly.

@q1iqizbn7xzhhae looks okay, which of course does not mean anything :-) Yes, that is what I would do as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the new main board will fix this. Remember,

@oldturkey03

Ebay seller claims that the problem is a screen issue and not fixable - suggests that I do not waste my money buying the Main Board that he is selling.

Perhaps I shouldn't have asked for the sellers opinion lol (shared images of washed out screen with seller).

So now I have to make a decision. Wanted to let you know where things stand as you've been so helpful, however now I'm unsure of what I'll be doing next, FYI.

If I do end up buying the part and giving the repair a shot, I will certainly follow up here with results. Thank you.
