@spezzella63 the Toshiba C55D uses a DC power jack plug socket cable. Something like this should work You will have to disassemble your computer and replace that cable.
It's a Toshiba, so original manuals or any help from the company can be ruled out due to their corporate paranoia and greed. You'll have to use something like this guide Sustitución del Conector de Alimentación de CC del Toshiba Satellite C55Dt-A5306 or videos like this and modify them according to your computer. The principals will be the same.
