I replaced the battery on this MacBook Pro and nothing was damaged during the process. Why will the battery not charge? I have tried to disconnect and reconnect the battery multiple times and nothing has changed. Is this battery faulty?

First what is the MagSafe charger LED telling you? Amber, Green or not lit at all.
Where did you buy the battery? And what the system working at all before you started.
If you are able to get it to start install this gem of an App CoconutBattery it will allow you a bit more information than the OS offers. If you can post a snapshot of the apps main window here for us to see as well.
