Friction fit connectors slightly opened

Being used to working on the Ds lites i pryed open my 2DS XL to swap the cartrige slot without much care. I slightly opened what i now know is a friction fit connector, it is not a lot but it doesnt sit completely the way it used to. Is there a way to salvage this situation? Could i press it back together again or could i press it and just straight up glue it down with the cable inside?

So it's the two connectors in green (not my pic). I did not take any pictures but I assembled the device again after making the post and it does seem to work as intended. I will probably dissasemble it again tomorrow and can snap som pictures then.

First off, can you add a picture of the connector to your question so we can see which connector it is and what shape it's in? From that we may be able to determine whether resoldering or replacing are viable options, as well as whatever else we can think of to fix it.

My first thought would be that most of those friction fit connectors are one-sided, meaning there are only connections on one side of the flex cable, not both. In that case, it may be possible to take a piece of thin plastic cut to the same width as the ribbon cable and slide it in along with the flex cable in order to add thickness to it to compensate for the widened opening. You'll probably have to experiment with various material thicknesses to get the right balance between being too thick to insert and too thin to make good contact. I'd strongly suggest you stick to non-conductive materials as much as humanly possible.

I've now edited the post to show which connectors i am reffering to. From what i saw while dissasembling they do appear to be one sided. Given that it now (presumably) works again it might not be so bad that a replacement is needed but if the connection becomes unstable the thin plastic thickener might be a good solution. Sorry for not taking pictures of the problem that was stupid
