Why won’t my MacBook Air (Early 2020), not get past the Apple screen?

About two weeks ago, my MacBook Air, (Early 2020: Model A2179) began to refuse to turn on unless connected to a power source. Even then, it would begin to overheat and not get past the Apple screen. I took it to Best Buy where they said it appeared to be a battery issue. I bought a new battery and replaced it, however the problem remains. What should I look into now?

If you have already replaced the battery and the issue still persists, it could be a hardware issue with another component of your MacBook Air. Here are some potential solutions to try:

  1. Reset the SMC (System Management Controller) of your MacBook Air. This can often fix issues with power management, including problems with charging, battery life, and power-related performance. To do this, shut down your MacBook Air, hold down the Shift, Control, and Option keys on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button for 10 seconds. Release all keys, then turn on your MacBook Air.
  2. Try booting your MacBook Air in Safe Mode. This will help you determine if the problem is software-related. To do this, restart your MacBook Air and hold down the Shift key as soon as you hear the startup chime. Keep holding down the Shift key until the Apple logo appears.
