Camera keeps shaking; will an iPhone 7 camera work to replace it?

This is probably a dumb question, but money is a bit tight atm and I'm looking to fix my phone without spending as much as a whole new phone. iPhone 7 cameras are cheaper, but appear to have the same 12mp specs. Is it possible to replace an iPhone 8 camera with one from an iPhone 7, or are they manufactured in such a way that it just won't work?

no, it's not. apple pretty much changes all components when it develops the next model.

an iphone 8 camera will not work in an iphone 7. chances are the flex cable and plug are different so you wouldn't even be able to make the connection.

for pricing, check out

mobile sentrix

injured gadgets

wholesale gadget parts

these are all pro suppliers, have excellent products and great post-sales support.

if you're really on a budget, or just want to go cheap, give ebay a try.

Generally when I'm looking for the absolute lowest price possible, eBay and AliExpress are my go-to sites. AliExpress is frequently the cheapest, but you have to balance that against the long shipping times from China. So for reasonable shipping times and low prices, hit up eBay, but for absolute rock bottom prices AliExpress is your best bet, as long as you're not in a hurry. I've had mixed results with product quality on AliExpress; generally things like cameras are fine, but others like screw and small part sets aren't always exact matches.

Jerry is correct, eBay and AliExpress will give you the cheapest prices.

i avoid AliExpress because cheap shipping takes a very long time, quick shipping is very expensive and the after-sales support is awful. plus, if you you have an issue with the item, you have to ship it back to China.

eBay does give cheap prices, but the cameras are usually used OEM, which is both plus and minus. just make sure the seller has tested the cam and offers a return if there are issues. new 3rd party cameras are usually cheaper from one of the above vendors and should be just as good as OEM, just not actual OEM.

ultimately it's down to your experience and comfort level.
