The variable speeds work but the shaft is not turning when I put the tool into the shaft. The motor is working but not turning the shaft where the tool goes in.

Open it up. What else can you do? Does the shaft pull out? It sounds like the shaft has snapped inside.

Roberto, what's the manufacturer and model number of your rotary tool? There are a lot of different ones out there and we can't know how to help you if we don't know what you have.
