Don’t hurt the chickens, Cleaning the trackpad and surrounding area isn’t always enough with liquid damage, and when it’s a sugary beverage it’s even worse.

What I suggest is that you disassemble the device and take out the logic board and all connectors. Once you have the boards and components out, use IPA (preferably 99%) and immerse the board and clean everything very, very well!

Take extra care to check the board side of the trackpad and use a magnifying glass with high magnification to inspect the components and connectors.

When you’ve cleaned everything and verified it’s as good as you can get it, leave it to dry for ~30 mins (IPA evaporates quickly). Put everything back together and check the functionality again. If haptic feedback still doesn’t work, it might very well need replacement, BUT! as Apple tends to do, the trackpad is likely serialized to the logic board. NOTE! I’ve never replaced that part on a 2020 Air, just assuming from experience in that matter.

forgot to mention : the drink ONLY spilled on the trackpad, and the second i opened it the drink wasn't over the logic board or anything. you could only see it after you removed the trackpad. it was only in the corners. it wasnt on the tiny board for the trackpad or anything. i checked all connections but the haptic still doesn't work.

Don't hurt the chickens, It might still have reached the board, even though you might not see it very well. A single drop in the wrong place, for even a second, can be damaging
