Home button not working after dissassemble

Hello I recently dissassembled my iPhone to change the volume button and after re-assembly the Home Button stopped working.

I already checked the gold prongs on the back, and made sure that the dock connector was properly assembled. But still not working....any ideas ?

On the logic board, under where the Home button is, you'll find the home button flex cable. You might check that the button on the flex cable is working, if not, you may need to replace it. I use a jewelers 30x loupe to check the cables for any slight tears.

Check the Home Button Flex for continuity with a volt meter when you push the Home Button. Also for the Home Button to work, Flex Cable #4 (the dock connector Flex Cable) must be seated correctly to the Logic Board.

+ love the pic you've added here John.. Gustavo, is this the same problem as your other question? If so it helps to keep just to asking once...we'll keep troubleshooting both otherwise and give the same advice again. if the above tips don't work then you may need a new dock connector :-(

Good way to check whether dock connector or not is to simply jump the contact pads with a screwdriver. If you get the same result as if you had pressed the button. then your problem is in the flex.

Another common mistake I've seen people make during screen repairs is simply pressing the prongs down during screen removal. Since it's not outright damaged it often gets overlooked, but if they are compressed they will not be making a connection.
