Anyone know how to fix an iPod Touch 7th Gen audio jack?

I don't have the money to buy a new one at the moment and I've had mine for almost 8 years now. I just want to know if anyone has successfully removed and replaced it and the ipod still works. I'm a bit addicted to music so if I repair it and break it I don't think I'll be able to handle it. I have an previous gen that I stopped using due to the battery dying fast and low storage so I'm willing to test repair that one. If the audio jacks are the same that would also help. Thank you.

Hi Nae,

It appears the 6th and 7th generation iPod Touch use the same charging port assembly, so instructions for the 6th gen should work for the 7th. Here's the part I ran across being sold for both.

iPod Touch 6/7 (6th & 7th Generation) Charger Port Replacement

I couldn't locate a guide specifically for the 7th gen, but there's a video for the 6th. I'd say you should be safe using the iFixit 7th gen logic board assembly replacement guide to get the logic board out.

Then follow this YouTube video to do the actual lightning port assembly replacement.

Hopefully that will give you everything you need for a successful repair. Let us know how it goes!
