Cant Install power button

Hello i have been trying to install a power button for the iPhone se, since im doing a housing swap, and have been unsuccessful for the past day, trying for hours. I have watched many videos and followed them to the t and won't work. I would like some help or some thorough text or visual instruction on how to properly install the power button.

here is the piece that hooks onto the chassis and connects both pieces, it looks good to me and the actual power button is brand new. I am sure i am doing something wrong so I would like a good tutorial or guide on how to install it.

The housing might be a bit inaccurate and you can’t fit it in there compare it to the old shell

The part might have been bent and wont fit any more

Or you don’t have the correct tools to get it in there

In the videos I watched , all that was needed was some tweezers, and some tape for help. I might have bent the connector but I don’t think so since it still looks flat in person. I already tried installing the button on the old and new chassis and both don’t work. So it’s most likely my error of not installing it right.

Sorry about that you might need a new part

After some research, I have found that the button is missing the “click” component, so it won’t move at all

Hi David,

Although iFixit is my first love for repairs, there are some rare occasions when I'm not getting what I need. When that happens I sometimes turn to a French site called SOSav that is somewhat similar to iFixit, except that they do all their own guides and don't allow for user contributions. As a result, they don't have near the breadth of products covered that iFixit does, but what they do have is usually well done, complete and informative.

Such is the case with the power button on your iPhone. SOSav has a step by step, iFixit style guide to replacing the power button flex cable assembly that should get you through finishing up the work on your phone. Here you go.
