Clothes tumble in the heat but don't dry. I have to dry 3 or 4 times for them to fully dry.

For a more complete answer we do need that model number. Meanwhile, here are the main causes
1. Clogged vent will cause the high limit thermostat to shut off the heating element.
- Blower wheel may be damaged, try rotation by hand to see if it is free
- Defective heating element, test with a multimeter
- Moisture Sensor
- High limit thermostat on the heating element
- Cycling Thermostat on the blower housing, test with multimeter
