Touchpad not registering a press unless pressed very hard

My touchpad does not register a press whenever I press it in the middle/sides unless I press it very hard, like slamming it hard with a finger. I checked everything, ribbon cable looks fine and I don't see anything blocking the button on the PCB. I really don't know what's going on. It's annoying when you want to either check the scoreboard, view map or anything.
Any suggestions?
