Bad red artifacting all over the screen
My one X is having terrible artifacting all over the screen with red, is it an HDMI port or something more serious?

well it isnt the cord cause i have the same problem with 3 different ones
I would assume the port then i mean can u send some more pics of the consul
@thattechman have you tried a different display? Also, try a different HDMI cable.

In my experience that can be caused by the HDMI port, or one of the EMI filters between the port and the retimer. If a different cable or display doesn't fix the issue, check to see if the port feels loose at all, or if there's any visible damage inside the port. If not, it might be an issue with one of those filters. If you have soldering experience, they are a fairly easy repair, but I'd recommend taking it to a repair shop that offers component level repair if you don't have the equipment/experience for it.

okay so i took it all apart and fiddled around with the port and its not loose at all, i have a hot air station and everything so im gonna try and take a crack at fixing it, where do i start?

@thattechman so it showed red on another display as well and replacing the HDMI cables?
