@splashmit you can find a really good writeup about the issues with the stuck mirror on the Nikon D model cameras on here When you do your repair, take plenty of pictures and create a guide for the rest of us. It'll help the next person that has the same issue with their camera. Create a new Guide - iFixit

Hi @splashmit
Firstly, your question is very vague. This means that I (And many others) don't know what you've tried. So in no particular order can you please update your post with the following:
What occurred beforehand
What events followed
Had any previous events led up to this?
Had there been any previous incidents?
What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
Have you tried ipa, or other chemicals?
Have you taken apart this device
Have you tried reassembling (To which no avail?)?
What i can roughly say though is that there is a possibility that some dirt has gotten in and jammed something, but I am unable to know for sure unless the above questions can be answered to help with diagnosis.

I have the same problem. I was shooting pictures and suddenly the screen showed the last picture taken and only the upper half was the scene. The bottom half looks black. When I noted that there was no mirror sound when shooting, I removed the lens and saw that the mirror has stopped half way.
What occurred beforehand: nothing weird, just normal funcionting.
What events followed: mirror stuck, camera not able to continue taking pictures
Had any previous events led up to this?: not that I noted.
Had there been any previous incidents? Nope, first time
What troubleshooting steps have you tried? Actually... not much, the mirror is stuck so prefer to ask
Have you tried ipa, or other chemicals? Not seeing how this would help, so no
Have you taken apart this device: no, I preferred to come here to look for help
Have you tried reassembling (To which no avail?)? No.
Thanks for your support!
