Battery percentage after replacement?

Can anyone offer any insight here? I replaced the battery in my MacBook Pro. The system booted up okay and I started charging to full capacity. I let it sit overnight and in the morning it was “stuck” at 50%. coconutBattery suggested everything was okay. I rebooted the system and a few minutes later it showed 100% charge. I let that sit for 2 hours and then began draining it. Let that sit for 5 hours and started charging again. This morning I expected to see it at 100% but it now seems to be stuck at 75%. Any help is appreciated. ty

You have a second issue here which was caused by using a knockoff charger!

Give Louis’ video a watch at it will explain things What does knockoff charger do to Macbook Pro Retina?

Your battery is working correctly, the charging logic within your system now needs repairs.

@macil - Could you have had someone switch it out without realizing? It got so bad where I was working we collected all of them and tested each one to make sure. Surprisingly we had quite a few knockoffs! We branded each one so the engineers would know who's was who's! If they failed to bring it back working or not they would have to pay for it.

I won't go into the whole story... Lets say one charger cost my company 2 million dollars! Which is why we had to do the audit and then certify each one was the real McCoy. All because one engineer forgot his charger and bought one locally.

Anyways... Check your MagSafe connections are they clean and not damaged? If you see one contact this is discolored thats also a good sign of a bad charger.

@danj No, it is my personal computer and I am the only one that has ever used it. Purchased new and has never been anywhere for service. The connections look good. Interestingly, the percentage jumped again to 100% shortly after my post. I am going to keep cycling it to see if that helps...

@macil - Maybe you where to quick checking CoconutBattery. Don't over do the cycling! It really won't change anything beyond wear your cycle count.
